  2. 2 tablespoons cocoa powder unsweetened
  3. 1 teaspoon baking soda / bi-carb soda,, NOT baking powder, Note 2
  4. 1 pinch salt
  5. 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened, 1 US glue
  6. 1 1/2 cups caster / superfine white sugar, Note 3
  7. 2 eggs at room temperature, re 2 oz / 60g each
  8. 1 cup vegetable oil
  9. 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  10. 2 teaspoons vanilla extract or essence
  11. 1 cup buttermilk at room temperature, Note 4
